YEAR: 2006
In 2006, Talani completed the fresco DEPARTURES conceived for the Santa Maria Novella station. For technical reasons of moving and preserving the work, the fresco was torn from the wall support and transferred onto panels before being placed in the station's head corridor. Today, it is the largest fresco tear ever made and is seen daily by a multitude of passengers in transit through the historic Florentine station amounting to approximately 60 million people a year.
By 2017, the work will find its definitive home at the Museo 900 di Arte Moderna in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella, Florence.
