YEAR: 2010

Work of installation artPiazza dell’Unità d’Italia (Trieste)

DESCRIPTION: After Florence and Berlin, the Leghornian Master Giampaolo Talani’s installation “Gli ombrelloni si aprono in Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia” (“Sun Umbrellas Opening at Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia”) was performed in Trieste in 2010, as part of the fascinating and most evocative festival Maremetraggio. There were about 50 blue -and- white striped sun umbrellas floating above the largest sea-facing square in Europe.

Besides, some excerpts from the television programme “Rosa dei Venti – l’Isola che c’è” (Rose of the Winds Everland) created by Talani and broadcast on RAI 1 in 2009, were shown at the opening and closing of film projections at the outdoor cinema Giardino Pubblico everyday. Here, people could learn more about the artist’s painting endeavors, style and technique. Finally, the book written by Francesco Festuccia and dedicated to Talani was presented at Harry’s Grill terrace as a further tribute to his talent and expertise. Besides, the formidable swing trio Radiomarelli entertained the audience during the event.
