YEAR: 2008-2011

On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Giuseppe Garibaldi’s birth the organizing committee commissioned Talani to paint two works.

He then created “L’ombra dell’eroe” (The Hero’ Shadow) and “Mille Uomini” (A Thousand Men). The Hero’ Shadow was consigned to the Italian President Giorgio Napolitano by the Senator A. Marcucci, chairman of the National Committee for the Celebrations of Garibaldi’s Bicentennial; it is currently located in Rome at the Pinacoteca del Quirinale Art Gallery. Whereas, the painting A Thousand Men recalls the deeds of the Thousand and it is presently displayed in the Museo del Risorgimento at the “Vittoriano” in Rome.
