MAREMETRAGE

TALANI'S UMBRELLAS OPEN IN PIAZZA DELL'UNITA D'ITALIA IN TRIESTE
The installation by artist Giampaolo Talani is part of an articulated tribute by the Maremetraggio festival to the Leghorn master.

After Florence and Berlin, Livorno-born master Giampaolo Talani's installation "Gli ombrelli della libertà" (The umbrellas of freedom) arrives in Trieste, in Europe's largest square overlooking the sea. About fifty blue and white striped beach umbrellas will in fact be "flown" by the artist on 2 July, as part of the Maremetraggio festival, in the evocative setting of Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia.
In fact, every day at the Giardino Pubblico Summer Cinema, at the opening and closing of the Maremetraggio screenings, the "pills" of the television programme "Rosa dei venti. L'isola che c'è", made by Talani for Rai 1, which will narrate the artist through his painting, his installations and his poetics. Finally, on Friday 2 July at 11 a.m. on the Terrace of Harry's Grill, the presentation of the book dedicated to him by Francesco Festuccia "Alla faccia del bagnino" will be a new tribute to the talent and skill of Giampaolo Talani. Together with the Livorno maestro and the RAI journalist, the audience will be entertained by the crackling swing of the Trio RadioMarelli.
